AOSE is now modory
We started as an office suite you shared with an Agent. The work people bring has outgrown that name — so we changed it.
AOSE stood for Agent Office Suite. It was an honest name for what we set out to build: documents, tables and slides, with an Agent that works in them beside you. It stopped being honest the day someone dropped forty minutes of interview footage into a Field and asked the Agent for the three moments worth keeping.
Why the name had to go
People don’t bring us office work. They bring a film in progress, a book they’re researching, a launch with a script, a poster and a budget. The documents and tables are still there, but they sit next to images, video, PDFs and whatever else the project needs.
“Office” described the tools. We wanted a name that describes nothing in particular, so it can hold whatever you make. modory is short, easy to say, and doesn’t promise a category.
The work people bring decides what modory is. The name shouldn’t argue with it.
What changes
- The name, on the site and in the app.
- The address: the website is now modory.app, and the app lives at my.modory.app.
- A new mark: four shapes for the kinds of things people make here.
What stays the same
Everything you made. Your Fields, works, versions, Canon and Meta are where you left them. Your account and plan don’t change.
The Agent works the way it did yesterday: it reads what you have, does real work in it, and shows every step.
The open-source AOSE stays as it is: the repository and the self-hosted install don’t change. More on AOSE and modory.
If something looks wrong after the move, write to hi@modory.app. We read every message.
